Rice with Vermicelli

 

Ingredients:

 

Oils and Vinegars

3 tsp Vegetables Oil

1 tsp Extra version olive oil

Pasta and Grains

2 cups of basmati rice

½ cup of vermicelli

Baking and Spices

¼ tsp black pepper, ground

1 tsp salt

How to make it:

  • In a small bowl, add the rice with warm water for 10 minutes, remove the water and set aside.

  • In a large saucepan, heat the vegetable oil and the extra virgin olive oil over medium-high heat. Add vermicelli and stir for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Add the rice, mix well and add water (to cover the rice and half an inch more). Season with salt and pepper.

  • Bring to boil while still uncovered. Cover and lower the heat.

  • In 7-10 minutes, fluff with a fork, and keep it under low heat for 5 more minutes, then serve.
