Labaneh

(strained yogurt)

A cream cheese alternative made from strained yogurt. It is easy to make and low in calories.

Ingredients:

 

Dairy

1 plain yogurt ( i buy either dannon or market basket brand)

Oils and Vinegars

Extra version olive oil

Baking and Spices

¼ tsp salt

 

How to make it:

  • In a small strainer, add paper towel to the bottom, and add the yogurt in.

  • Let is strain all the liquid for 48 hours at room temperature, then transfer (as is) into the fridge for another 48 hours.

  • Rremove from the strainer and add in a glass tupperware, cover with salt and olive oil to prevent it from going bad.
