Appetizer: 

Hummus

Hummus

Hummus is an Arabic word means “chickpea.” Hummus is a Levantine Arab dip or spread that is made from chickpeas that have been cooked and mashed, then blended with tahini (a paste made from sesame seeds), olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and salt.

Ingredients:

 

Produce

1 lemon

2 cloves of garlic

1 tbsp of tahini sauce

Oils and Vinegar

Extra version olive oil

Baking and Spices

½ tsp salt

½ tsp of cummin (optional)

Beans

2 cups of cooked chickpeas (also knows as Garbanzos)

How to make it:

  • In a blender, add the chickpeas, the garlic, the tahini, the juice of the lemon, and salt. Mix until fully blended.

  • Place in a bowl, drizzle with olive oil and serve.
