Beef Shawarma

Ingredients:

Meat
1 lb of flank steak, or steak tips. I often ask the butcher to cut into strips
Produce
2 tomatoes
½ lettuce
½ bunch of parsley
1 lemon
1 clove of garlic
Condiments
½ cup tahini
Oils and Vinegars
1 tsp of extra version olive oil
Baking and Spices
½ tsp black pepper, ground
½ tsp salt
½ tsp whole spice, ground
½ tsp cloves, ground
½ tsp cardamom, ground
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp turmeric
½ tsp coriander
½ tsp cumin

How to make it:

Rub the meat with all the spices and sauté in a pot with extra virgin olive oil for few minutes, then cover with water and let simmer for 30 minutes, or until fully cooked.

To make the tahini sauce: add the tahini with the mashed garlic and juice of the lemon, season with salt and pepper.

If you prefer a sandwich than a salad, you can get a pita bread, add the cooked shawarma, add the chopped parsley and tomatoes, then drizzle the tahini sauce, roll up and enjoy!
